So many concerned neighbors and friends have followed the story of Vivi, a beloved family dog who was lost in Elk Grove Village, IL on Monday, January 6, 2025. After 15 days of frigid winter weather, we are overjoyed to share that Vivi was found on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, under a truck at a loading dock in an industrial area of Elk Grove Village. We are so grateful for all the support, prayers, and volunteers who worked tirelessly to help find Vivi. ❤️
Vivi still has a medical journey ahead of her. She has a broken and dislocated hip, an infection in a hind leg joint, and some unknown matter in her intestines that may cause blockage. She is severely dehydrated and has lost 24 lbs (from a svelte 57 lbs to a gaunt 33 lbs). She is currently receiving IV fluids, IV antibiotics, and nasogastric tube feeding. She needs to regain her strength before undergoing surgery for her broken hip.
Getting Vivi medically stable will cost between $7-8k, with the still unknown cost of the orthopedic surgery ON TOP of that. We are organizing this fundraiser because so many kind, compassionate, concerned friends and neighbors have asked how they can help. Vivi's family would be so grateful!
All funds raised will go to Vivi's medical expenses. Frequent updates and receipts will be posted here as Vivi's treatment journey progresses. Any amount you can donate would be so appreciated! Every dollar helps - no amount is too small or insignificant. Thank you for your continued prayers and support for Vivi.
