Victor came to the United States from Kenya as a young child. This country has been his home for nearly his entire life. He grew up here, studied here, and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2024. He’s an incredible chef who brings people together with his food, and is a manager at a restaurant in downtown Austin. He dreams of going back to school and earning a graduate degree to work as a therapist and enrich his community.

Victor has built a life here- he’s married, he has sweet disabled cat named Patrick who adores him, and his future dreams center around staying here with his family. But right now, all of that is at risk. Victor is in a very difficult battle with immigration. Despite being married to a U.S. citizen, he is facing the threat of being separated from the life and community he has always known.

We are doing everything we can to fight for him to stay here, but immigration cases are complicated and costly. Between lawyer fees and the ICE bond required for his release, the financial burden is overwhelming. That’s why we’re asking for help.

We are raising funds to cover:

• Attorney fees to ensure Victor has strong legal representation.

• ICE bond costs so Victor can come home and prepare for his case with the support of his loved ones.

We expect Victors ICE bond will be around $10,000. If we are able to raise the money to pay his bond, we plan to donate that money after his court case is resolved. We will donate it to American Gateways who support immigrants with legal representation, education, and advocacy. We hope to pass on the help we have been able to receive to help other people in Victors situation.

Any amount you can give will make a real difference—it’s a chance for Victor to stay with the people who love him, in the only home he’s ever really known.
