Vesper is ready for his next big step- Top surgery!
His chest has been the number one surge of pain, anxiety, and overall discomfort. It is the one thing that misaligns with his gender experience, and disrupts how others perceive him.
We are a low-income family. We live in a state that does not allow his insurance to approve any type of gender-affirming care. He recently turned 18 and will not have any insurance at all when he turns 19.
We also don't live in an area that has work that is easy for him to access, nor are they respectful or affirming of his identity. For over a year, we've been trying to sell our home so we can move to an area that is more receptive to his identity and has insurance that can help with transition care.
As much as we have tried, we are a long way from being able to move or to afford this surgery, if ever.
We know this is a long shot. If we don't reach our goal for the top surgery itself, it may help cover expenses to move.
Vesper is a creative kind hearted, autistic person who just wants to fit in. He wants to go to college to become a biologist. He dreams of moving to Ireland some day, and exploring the variety of plants across many diverse ecosystems, with a special interest in some rare, ancient plants that are only found in certain regions. He has friends who live in multiple countries, who speak a variety of languages, and he loves learning about their culture. He still loves watching anime, playing video games, and will always be a brutal Uno player.
He deserves a life where he's comfortable, happy, AND SAFE in his own skin.
