Donate to Uplift Maria & Gina's Journey

My name is Maria Azzarelli. I am currently homeless due to family discord and reside temporarily in a NYC shelter. I am a woman of faith and trust and believe in God’s power to transform my life. This season has been truly challenging for my daughter Gina and me. I am the solo breadwinner for my daughter Regina and myself. We work together as a team to keep each other happy and motivated since we have such an amazing bond, and the Lord has been our help and shield. Regina suffers from social anxiety, which makes it hard for her to socialize or be around anyone. I too have struggled with this due to domestic violence, so I understand and relate. I moved back to NYC in 11/2022 after Gina graduated high school to be closer to family. My life was quite simple; I am a caregiver for my aunt, and I also drove for Uber to add to my income. Long story short, my mom and I got into a dispute that left me with nowhere to stay, and now my job as a caregiver is on pause due to some changes with the healthcare CDPAP. I am asking for any kind of donations that will help me pay my bills while out of work but also help pay for food since the shelter we stay in is not a cooking facility, for travel to get to and from, and for upcoming bills until everything gets situated. I appreciate your time to stop by and read my story. Every donation will go towards the causes described above. The shelter also requires that we apply for social services while in shelter and to keep an active case; however, after applying twice for help, I have been denied benefits due to my income, and with this pause, I am still considered employed but have no funds coming in since I’m currently not active.
