Hey everyone, it's me, Ty. As everyone who knows me knows, I moved to Texas, started a new job with Buc-ee's, and have just been raising my two kiddos. I've been living with R.A. since 23 and have been doing okay. About 9 weeks ago, I woke up and started feeling pain behind my left leg. Me being a fighter, I've fought through the pain. But this pain has gotten the best of me, and it's gotten me to suicidal thoughts and deep anxiety. I saw my primary doctor 4 weeks ago. Her words were, "I don't know how you're standing or walking here today. I'm not allowing you to go to work. I'm sending you to a neurosurgeon where you will find relief." I cried and lost the battle with my doctor. I learned here in Texas, when you sign up for your medical insurance, you're also supposed to sign up for temp or long-term insurance, which I was unaware of. So, my HR dept at Buc-ee's tells me, I've been approved for the time off, but I didn't sign up for temp leave, so I'll be off without pay. I lost my mind. So, for four weeks now, I have had no income. And yesterday, I learned my fate. The surgeon wanted to keep me and do emergency back surgery. He said I waited so long that I'm going to be paralyzed from the waist down if I don't get this done immediately. It will happen while I'm sitting on the toilet, he said, and I won't feel anything anymore. I begged the doctor to give me time to get some things in order. I have till Monday to give him an answer and be at the hospital. I've always been strong and never complain. Today, I'm asking everyone to open their hearts and please pray to our God above for me. God says in scripture Matthew 18:19-20, "Again, I tell you truly that if two of you agree on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them." Amen.
