Tyeus was born without his left hand and does not have a prosthetic device. He has been working hard with Medical Arts Prosthetics of Madison, WI, and his physician for the last 6 months to get authorization from Tricare insurance for an incredible myoelectric prosthetic hand and forearm. He did it! Tricare will cover the vast majority of an approximately $45,000 bill. However, Tyeus will still be responsible for the $4,500 catastrophic cap. He will only be covered by Tricare until June 2026, and will not have another chance for coverage.
