Cancer, car accident, loss wages, and eviction.

After just recovering from cancer removal surgery, on January 26th, after working a long over night shift at the state prison where I've worked for over 20 years, I lost control of the car. The car rolled several times before finally stopping on its side. Thankfully, a good Samaritan saw the accident and stopped to help.

When first responders arrived, they were surprised to find me alive. I was air lifted to a hospital over an hour away for emergency medical attention. The hospital found no internal bleeding, but I suffered a concussion, a laceration on my head that required staples, and several broken bones right arm and ribs, fingers, and left shoulder bone. Due to the broken bone, my right arm is paralyzed. There's a chance I can relearn to use it through physical therapy, but that's a long and difficult road.

While still in the hospital, my girlfriend and I received an eviction letter stating we had only 2 weeks to pay $3500 or pack our belongings, pets, and move out. We have half that amount, but without the full 3500, we will be forced to leave our home.

Losing our only mode of transportation is making it difficult for my girlfriend to get to work, and now that I've been released from the hospital, I am worried that I do not have enough sick leave to keep my job. I'm supposed to retire in a couple of months and now I'm afraid we are going to be homeless, without a car, with no income, and no way for me to continue physical therapy.
