On April 13th, 2024 I made a decision, after spending time in the hospital, that would change my life forever.

I've always enjoyed my childhood, learned a lot of lessons in my teen years, and have been looking forward to my future as an adult. However, every once in a while I get a reminder that my life hasn't always been like the rest. Living with Sickle Cell Disease has been an "inconvenience" to say the least, but as I've gotten older the pain that I feel makes the vision of my future very foggy. Everyday waking up with a new pain or having to limit myself and my experiences, because I live around a disease that has taken over how I live my life, has been exhausting.

I was admitted in the hospital on April 13th, 2024 with a severe Sickle Cell pain crisis that effected my entire body. The pain that I felt that was so excruciating that the amount of pain medication that was given later started to cause kidney damage which extended my stay. After coming home and recovering, I made the decision to go through with a Stem Cell Transplant.

With this transplant, which I will be starting on July 9th, 2026, it will give me the opportunity to do more than I've ever been able to do, and live a life without the pain and daily reminder of my disease. This journey, as most, will not be easy. However, with God, my family, and my friends by my side I know that I will make it through. I am excited to bring about awareness and education on Sickle Cell Disease, that affects millions of people and don't have much awareness about it, as well as, bring everyone along on my journey.

With your help and support I will be able to continue on my journey with less financial burden as I will be out of a job during this time. While still going through different treatments in preparation for the transplant and bills that I have to pay for myself, this support will lessen the load and the stress on me mentally.

Thank you so much for your time and support.
