Hello, my name is Jamie Postma I am starting this gofundme for my daughter Chandle Dimick. Chandle is 20 years old and is in her final year of college at OSU. She is majoring in Human Nutrition with a minor in Microbiology.

Chandle has had health issues since she was very young: muscle and joint pain, rashes from being in the sun, crippling migraines, to many other symptoms that altered her ability to play sports and live a normal teenage life. We finally found a pediatric rheumatologist when she was in junior high school that diagnosed her with Raynaud’s and vascular instability. When she was old enough to go to the adult rheumatologist she finally got another diagnosis of inflammatory arthritis. She is on so many medications to manage symptoms, that she has to have more medication to manage the side effects of those medications.

Shortly after she started at OSU in August of 2023, she began randomly passing out, soon after this escalated to her having seizures. We have been in and out of the emergency rooms from Tulsa, to Stillwater, and even to OKC, now in October of 2025, of all the doctors we have seen, there hasn’t been anyone that can explain why she is having these seizures. A few months ago her blood sugar began rapidly dropping, her sodium levels will drop, and her pulse will increase to over 180 beats per minute from slowly walking up one flight of stairs, it’s a balancing act that is a fine tuned guessing game trying to keep her out of the emergency room.

As a mother, I have been terrified with her being two hours away and her not being able to call for help if she needed it. Worried that she would have a seizure in the middle of the night and no one would know she needed help, or her blood sugar dropping and her not being able to wake up and call for help.

The solution we have came up with is to get her a service dog that is able to alert her in the event her blood sugar begins dropping, she is fixing to have a migraine, or she is going to have a seizure. This dog will also be trained to help her battle the depression and anxiety that comes from being an ill 20 year old with no answers and being scared to be alone and worried that something will happen to her.

We are not the type to ask for help, but we need help. We were lucky enough to find the perfect companion for her at the Tulsa Humane Society, but the training for him is going to cost $6,500. Please, if you are able to donate to help cover the cost of training please help.
