Join us in supporting Tim.
Tim has been a cherished friend and an integral part of the Detour 19 community for years. Now, he’s facing significant health challenges with a long road to recovery, and we have the opportunity to give back to someone who has given so much. Free will donations are greatly appreciated to assist with extensive medical expenses, loss of work, and a long journey to recovery.
Tim Knutson’s Health Journey:
Tim was as admitted into Methodist Hospital on December 24th, 2024 (Christmas Eve) for Pancreas and Bowel obstruction. He was hospitalized for two weeks, went home, and back to work. Unfortunately, three weeks later, he ended back in Methodist with the Flu and Pneumonia until January 3rd. Thankfully, Tim was released to go home to recover.
Sadly, Tim rushed back to the emergency room on March 11th with severe abdominal pain, this was unrelated to his previous conditions. Tim’s condition took a turn for the worst, and he was scheduled for a lifesaving emergency surgery to remove a portion of his small intestine on March 14th. Through a long weekend of unknowns, he pulled through the surgery like the fighter we all know.
Tim has and is going through a long and complex recovery process as the surgeon and team try to navigate through his delicate care program. Thankfully, Tim is scheduled to go home on May 5th to recover further and gain strength for another upcoming surgery late Summer or Early Fall of 2025. The Surgery will be taking place at the University of Minnesota given the complexity of the re- attachment procedure.
Until then, Tim will have in-home healthcare scheduled visits and while his nutritional value is being (TPN) intravenously fed to him, the team is working diligently to create his dietary intake program to gain progress. As Tim gains strength to move forward with the next phase, he will continue to move one foot in front of the other in this rare recovery process. Thank you to everyone for your support and grace, we all appreciate and have been living proof that a “FAMILY” truly takes a village.
