My name is Ana Carolina Rubio. I am a divorced mother with a 4-year-old son and a 10-year-old Yorkshire. Due to my recent divorce, my finances are tight at the moment, but for me, life is priceless; on the contrary, it has GREAT VALUE. For this reason, and faced with a very difficult decision that I had to make, I decided to follow the advice of a dear friend who calmed me and was a light in my life, and I humbly come here to ask for your help to cover the emergency surgery that Thor, my four-legged child, needed yesterday.
I took Thor to a vet appointment on Monday morning to examine him because he wasn't feeling well. He had been urinating and defecating with blood, which started mildly on Friday night. Since it was the weekend, I waited until Monday and took him in, thinking that, at worst, he might have a urinary infection.
However, after some tests, we discovered that it could be something much worse (a tumor), and he would need to go to a hospital for a complete ultrasound and X-rays to be certain. My second and third thoughts were focused on finding a way to help save my son Thor's life because he either needed to have the surgery, or I would have to put him to sleep, and I couldn’t bear to do that without trying to save him. I confess that at first I panicked because I didn’t have the resources, and the credit card with a limit to finance the surgery didn’t cover even half of the cost.
But God, who is never late and never fails, gave me a word that Thor would be okay and that He would guide me. Then, doors began to open and angels appeared in my life to help me, directing me towards the best and somewhat more affordable option compared to other hospitals I had looked into.
And so, Thor was operated on last night—July 30, 2024—and the tumor on his spleen, which was 7 cm by 5 cm in diameter, was successfully removed. For a Yorkshire that weighs 5 lbs, that is quite significant, as it took up the entire side of his rib cage and was already pushing against his organs and nearly bursting. That’s why the emergency surgery was so critical; if it had burst, he would have suffered a hemorrhage.
His surgery was a success, and today, July 31, he came home at the end of the day. He ate well, had a bowel movement and urinated, and now I will continue his treatment at home. The tumor has been sent for biopsy, and we will have the results in 10 days, but I believe it is benign in the name of Jesus. God does not fail and does nothing halfway.
This is our story and the reason that brought me here to humbly ask for your help in covering the hospital and consultation costs. Please share this on social media, with friends, family, etc. Those who have a pet know that they are part of our family and deserve our love and care just as much because, for God, life always has value and no price. I count on your heartfelt help. God bless you and give back to you in double measure. We declare boundless blessings on your life and your family. Thank you very much.
