Hello, my name is Alice and i am a student from Italy. I created this fundraising campaign to support and help my friend Ahmed.
My name is Ahmed Abu Hassanein, a Palestinian musician, music educator, and psychosocial support animator from Gaza.
For more than eight years, I have dedicated my life to teaching music to children, performing traditional Palestinian songs, and using art as a tool for emotional healing and hope.
Before the war, I worked with several cultural and humanitarian organizations, creating children’s choirs, leading music workshops, teaching Oud and rhythm, and supporting children through artistic and psychosocial activities. I always believed that music can heal, that one melody can help a child overcome fear, and that art can preserve our identity even in the darkest times.
But during the recent war on Gaza, I lost everything.
My home was damaged, and all of my musical instruments—my Oud, percussion instruments, sound equipment, and tools I spent years collecting—were destroyed or lost under the rubble.
These instruments were not just tools; they were my livelihood and the only way I could support the children who depended on music to cope with trauma.
Despite the destruction, I am determined to continue my mission:
to teach, to perform, to support children, and to keep art alive in a place where life has become incredibly difficult.
This fundraiser is my only chance to start again.
Your support will help me:
• Replace my destroyed musical instruments (Oud, percussion, basic equipment)
• Restart music lessons and emotional support activities for children
• Rebuild my ability to work, perform, and serve my community
• Continue providing safe, creative spaces for children affected by war
Every contribution—no matter how small—brings me one step closer to rebuilding my work and restoring hope to the children I teach.
By supporting me, you are not only helping an artist rebuild his life; you are helping revive music, culture, and healing for dozens of children in Gaza.
Thank you for reading my story, for sharing it, and for standing with us during this difficult time.
Your kindness is a lifeline for me.
