Walking up Ben Nevis for The Walton Centre
Myself and my partner Stanley will be walking up Ben Nevis in June this year to raise funds for the Walton Centre. This is a specialist centre dedicated to the treatment of brain, spine and neurological disorders. The reason we want to donate to this organisation is because they have benefitted my family a lot over the years.Firstly, My dad. He was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2015 and within 6 weeks he was undergoing surgery to save his life. This surgery was successful, the mass was removed and he recovered amazingly well. My older sister had surgery to remove a tumour on her spine and a cyst that that grow around the tumour that went into her brain. That surgery was successful but she did develop hydrocephalus from the surgery. She then had to have 2 more surgery’s just 2 months after her first brain surgery to fit a shunt into her brain to drain her brain fluid into her stomach. These surgeons have given my dad and older sister their lives back. My mum also gets her head injected twice a year because she has occipital head aches. I know the Walton centre has helped more than just my family and I want them to be able to keep giving the standard of care they gave my family to others. I would like raise £500 and any donation you can give to this amazing charity will be deeply appreciated. Thank you for reading.
