The Michael J. Forzano Memorial Scholarship Fund has been set up in memory of Michael, a talented, passionate and accomplished chef. Michael passed away in December of 2015, at the age of 52. He was a 1986 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Hyde Park, New York. Michael began his culinary career at Salvatore's Restaurant in Springfield, then Patsy's in West Springfield, before his acceptance to the CIA. Throughout Michael's career, he cooked in Marco Island, FL and the US Virgin Islands before becoming an Executive Chef in Palm Beach, Florida. Michael became the Executive Chef at the Apple Tree Inn in Lenox then completing his career I restaurant management for Sodexho before his death.
As a student at the CIA, Michael honed his skills I fine dining and management. The members of Michael's family, with support from friends and the community, would like to pass on the same learning experiences to a high school student who is pursuing a career in the culinary arts. Your donations will go directly to a student who is a graduating high school senior, in good standing, who has already proven they are committed to a career in the culinary arts.
