On July 5, 2023 my son, Max Emerson, was shot and killed in a random robbery on the campus of Catholic University in DC. Max was there to attend a teacher conference at the Library of Congress. He was only 25. In high school he excelled as a wrestler, leaving an indelible mark on the sport. Max's accomplishments included being a State Champion wrestler achieving an undefeated season (37-0) and was named the Courier Journal’s Kentuckiana Wrestler of the Year. Max had a genuine love for his athletes, students, colleagues, and family, and he cherished the time spent with them. He will be remembered as a champion for the underdog and someone who brought joy and encouragement to all those around him. His favorite quote was “champions find a way.”
To memorialize his legacy and give back to our community we created the Max Emerson Champions Find a Way Foundation, Inc. Our mission is to provide charitable, benevolent, and financial assistance to children, teens, and young adults who face barriers in achieving their personal and educational goals.
If you want to help us now, feel free to donate. If you want to claim a tax deduction, please wait until we are granted our 501c3 eligibility.
Thank you.
