Recently, my close friends lost a very important pet in their lives… but Luna wasn’t just a pet. Luna was the light in the darkness, a miracle puppy, a gentle giant, and their Soul Dog. Ever since Luna was little, she was told she wouldn’t live past a couple of months old… she beat those odds. Then, when she was about 3, the vet said she probably wouldn’t make it through her battle with Lyme disease… but guess what, she did. At 7 years old, Luna was diagnosed with liver cancer this past June. Unfortunately, this time Luna didn’t win that battle and left this earth far too early on June 30th.
The reason I am starting this fundraiser is not because Luna's family is asking for money but because any animal owner knows vet bills are just too high for even an average household to afford, let alone an unexpected emergency visit which cost over $4,000. But Luna's owners did it for her, not because they have all the money in the world but because Luna was a part of the family and they would do anything to save her. I’m asking for donations to The Luna Fund to help pay the burden of vet bills in order to ease the grief during this time. If we reach our goal and have remaining funds, they will go to The Animal Clinic of East Avenue to then be donated in the future for any families in need during a medical emergency with their pet. Our goal is to continue the Luna Fund in memory of her to help out anyone we can because we know that’s what Luna would have wanted.
Any amount is greatly appreciated and I thank you so much for taking the time to consider The Luna Fund.
Rest in Peace Luna Baby, forever missed...
