We are Louise Peral and Lori Manning and we are the aunt and friend of Andrew Scott - owner of The Knockout.
The Knockout is a family owned and operated business that has become a staple in our little village of Norwood.
Yesterday they made this announcement that I've attached to the bottom of this.
While I know that $50,000 would be out of reach, they will be able to continue operating in a new way if they can make a few different adjustments. Unfortunately due to the hardships the family has recently suffered the funds to do this just aren't available.
Our town needs small businesses like this one. The family does so much for our community, so let's give back to save The Knockout.

Important Announcement -
As of today, The Knockout will no longer be able to serve our amazing, homemade hamburgers, burritos or quesadillas. Sweetheart's Bakery will no longer be able to serve our fan favourite doughnuts.
All of our past inspections by the fire department and health unit have never identified any issues with the way that we do things - HOWEVER due to a complaint by someone in the community the fire department has come back - at the complaint of this anonymous person. They have come and told us that in order to continue to grill or deep fry we have to upgrade our fire prevention system. This would cost us over $50,000, which we do not have.
If this had happened as part of a regular inspection, we would have understood, however, the fact that someone went out of our way to make this happen - hurts and is extremely upsetting. We have always tried to do our best in the community, to be part of events and to be kind to everyone who enters.
With everything going on, the loss of Andrew's father, the loss of my grandmother, and us being in the Christmas season, we are both feeling completely overwhelmed, and honestly a bit defeated.
The Knockout as you/we know it will be done. It will remain in it's current location for the remainder of the year but the menu will obviously change. After the Christmas holidays The Knockout will be moving into the coffee shop, due to the fact that with half of our menu being gone we will no longer be able to afford the rent in it's current location. So Deadman's Brew will be no more.
It's devastating.
However, Andrew has a lot of ideas to bring a new menu forward that will be better than ever, different, but just as delicious. We will still bring you amazing food with fresh ingredients.
Thank you for your continued support.
