Donate to the Jane Flynn Women’s Education Scholarship

My name is Patrick Flynn, and I am the son of the great social worker, Jane Flynn. I am starting a charitable organization in her memory and mission in life: to serve those in need through educational opportunities.

 The last two decades of Jane’s 50 year-long career as a social worker, Jane Flynn specialized her social work serving the women of New Bedford as clinical director of The Women’s Center in downtown New Bedford. The hope is to continue her tireless efforts for the project of progress through education and opportunity beyond her passing.

 The current name of the charitable organization will be “The Jane Flynn Women’s Education Scholarship” and will function as an educational scholarship awards committee for women seeking to empower and improve their lives through the vehicle of higher education.

 The organization will aim to annually award the funds raised throughout the year to a particular candidate who has demonstrated their commitment and intention to use higher education as an opportunity to improve their own lives and the world around them.
