On Wednesday, November 12th, Kristen Horn’s life changed in an instant. A devastating car accident left this mother of four fighting for every breath.

The injuries are catastrophic: a torn aorta, collapsed lung, shattered pelvis, broken femur, fractured spine and ribs. She’s received over 30,000ml of blood transfusions. During emergency surgery, her heart stopped twice. Doctors had no choice but to place her in a medically induced coma.

Four children are praying for their mommy to come home.

Her husband Matt—a veteran and first responder who has spent his life saving others—now sits helplessly at her bedside, refusing to leave. The man who runs toward danger can’t fix this. The surgeries ahead are countless. The medical bills will be crushing.
