Hey everyone. As you all may have heard, our awesome friend Thad is going to have a rough couple of months ahead of him. I'm starting a GoFundMe to help him while he's out of work with the kids, transportation, medical bills, and just everyday life.

We've all been touched by cancer in one way or another, and I can't think of a better guy to be able to power through and battle hard. Keep him and the kids in your prayer, and please consider donating. Anything will help him through the next year!

Thad's original post on Facebook of what he will be going through and why any and all support is needed
"I wanted to take a moment to share what’s been going on with me.

At the beginning of January, I found a lump in my back. I went to the hospital, where they attempted to drain it, believing it was just an infection. They gave me antibiotics and sent me home. However, the area remained irritated, so I sought a second opinion at another hospital. After examining it, they advised me to see a surgeon.

That Friday, I met with the surgeon, and by Monday, they removed the lump. A few days later, on Wednesday, I received a call asking me to come into the office. The surgeon assured me that everything looked good—until he told me I had a sarcoma. I had no idea what that even meant.

The next morning, the pathology report from the University of Michigan confirmed that I have a rare, aggressive cancer called high-grade Myxofibrosarcoma with spindle cells—something only 1% of the population gets. Doctors don’t know what causes it. Given the urgency, I was immediately referred to the IU Simon Cancer Center.

That Monday, I started making calls at 8 AM, and by God’s grace, I was already in their system. By 8 AM the next morning, I was sitting with the doctor. They scheduled surgery, but after reviewing my case with the tumor board, they found that the original surgeon didn’t get clear margins. Since then, another tumor has grown—bigger than the first.

The plan now is for me to undergo five weeks of radiation—25 sessions total—starting Monday at 10 AM. After a couple of weeks to heal, I’ll have surgery to remove the tumor and any remaining material from the first procedure. Because it’s so close to my nerve pack, chest wall, and within my latissimus dorsi muscle, they expect I’ll have a significant hole in my side, requiring a wound VAC. Once they confirm they’ve removed all the cancer, I’ll undergo reconstructive surgery, followed by chemotherapy to eliminate any remaining cancer cells.

This has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced—physically, emotionally, mentally, and financially. I don’t know exactly how I’ll get through it, but I know that I will. Right now, my focus is on setting up transportation for daily treatments at IU Simon Cancer Center, which I’m working on. The next 12 months will be filled with treatments, surgery, and healing.

Please keep my kids in your prayers. More than anything, I want them to continue living their best lives without being weighed down by this.

Thank you all for your support.
I will Share Updates as i get them"
