Our dear friend, coworker, and family member Terry Souza has been bravely fighting breast cancer for the past four months. At 55, Terry received her diagnosis in August 2025 and underwent a lumpectomy in September. She now faces several more months of treatment—chemotherapy through January, followed by four weeks of radiation.

About Terry

Terry grew up in Nelson County, Virginia. Always seeking new adventures, she made her way west to Colorado and eventually to Hawaii, where she lived for more than twenty years. Since that time she has moved back home to Nelson county to be with family. Her spirit is warm, resilient, and full of life—qualities that shine even in the middle of this difficult journey.

Why We’re Asking for Help

As Terry continues treatment, she could really use support with medical bills and everyday living expenses. Her medical costs alone are expected to exceed $20,000. She is working as much as she can, but the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation mean she will inevitably miss many days of work.
