From Terri:
On Sunday, July 19, our beautiful girl, Kailey, peacefully earned her angel wings after a courageous 3½-year battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive brain tumor.
When Kailey was diagnosed, we were told that most people survive only 6–18 months. But if you knew Kailey, you know she was never defined by statistics. She chose joy anyway. She loved fiercely, laughed often, found beauty in the smallest moments, and touched countless lives with her kind heart and radiant smile.
For the last 3½ years, my greatest privilege has been being Kailey’s mom and full-time caregiver. I stepped away from my career so I could spend every possible moment with her—making memories, advocating for her, comforting her, and loving her through every stage of this journey. There is not a single moment I would trade.
Now, after pouring everything I had into caring for Kailey, I am beginning the unimaginable task of rebuilding a life without her. Along with the overwhelming grief comes the reality of funeral expenses, everyday bills, and the cost of moving back to Bluffton—a place that has always felt like home and where I hope to celebrate Kailey’s life surrounded by the people who loved her.
If you feel led to support me, your gift will help cover funeral and memorial expenses, moving costs, and basic living expenses as I navigate this next chapter. Every donation, no matter the size, helps lighten a burden that feels impossible to carry alone.
If giving isn’t possible, sharing this fundraiser and praying for me are equally meaningful gifts.
Thank you for loving Kailey. Thank you for cheering her on, praying for her, laughing with her, and reminding her that her life mattered. Because of all of you, she experienced extraordinary love throughout her journey.
As Kailey often reminded me, even in the hardest moments, we can still find joy anyway. My hope is to honor her by carrying that message forward, one step at a time.
