Donate to Terri: A Lifeline for Many in Need

This fundraiser is in support of an amazing woman who has fallen on hard times due to the tough economy. Terri has been a fantastic member of the Hawaiian community but also a stout supporter of military families.

Terri's role as a respite care provider (someone who focuses on special needs children) gave critical support to our family through tough times while we struggled to raise an adopted child that was born with drug exposure. Over a period of three years, Terri was not only a caretaker, she became part of the family, truly embodying the "ohana" spirit that Hawaii is known for. Even now, five years after we have left the islands, Terri still calls to check up on the family and calls on special occasions to wish the family Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, etc. What is even more impressive is the fact that we were not the only family that Terri was responsible for while we were in Hawaii. She juggled her time among several families, giving much of herself without asking anything in return.

Unfortunately, now, due to the poor economy, changes in how the government pays the independent contractor childcare providers, and a recent medical issue, Terri is struggling to make ends meet since the medical bills have become overwhelming. This amazing woman has touched so many lives while never asking anything in return. We are reaching out to the social media community to ask for any support, no matter how small, to help one of the kindest, most amazing women.

All donations will go to Terri to help pay for her medical bills and provide support to her while she recovers from a knee injury that has left her unable to walk without assistance.
