Donate to Tedric Milton's Cancer Treatment Fund

My name is Karen Cummings, and Shawnda LaRocque and I had the pleasure and joy of working with Tedric Milton at Hebron High School in Carrollton, Texas, beginning in 2014. Our friendship continues! Tedric has a contagiously optimistic personality! We worked with special needs students, and he made our days fun while mentoring the students.

Tedric met and married Lauren, and their love story brought their beautiful daughter Demi into their family. Demi is ten years old and such a beautiful young lady.

Tedric, who will be 42 in March, began having symptoms in the early fall of 2023. After advocating for himself by continuing to seek answers, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic colorectal cancer in December 2023.

Tedric spent the next 9 months doing 12 chemotherapy treatments. As a result of the treatments, he was unable to work, so they've been living on one income. Tedric remained so positive, taking healthy strides by eating healthy and exercising daily when possible. Doctors told him in September 2024 that there was a minuscule amount of cancer after his treatments but suggested 6 more treatments. Due to insurance needs and so much time off from work, at this time Tedric felt the obligation to provide for his family through returning to work and obtaining insurance. He returned to work only to discover in December 2024 that the cancer had raised its ugly head again along with more spots on his liver. Doctors advised 12 more chemo treatments.

With a positive mindset, Tedric began these next rounds of chemotherapy. Unfortunately, after his first treatment, his liver bilirubin rose to levels that required a pause in his chemo. Doctors continue to search for all treatments possible, including fluids and other drugs to cause tumors to stop growing. All of this costs money and is a further financial drain that strains the family.

Tedric and Lauren appreciate all the prayers, texts, and phone calls. We are firm believers in the power of prayer and that God is the ultimate healer! Tedric's loss of work over the past year along with his medical costs and medications have been financially and emotionally draining. We wanted to enable others who know and love them to help support Tedric and Lauren during this cancer journey. As cancer survivors ourselves, we know firsthand the financial, physical, and spiritual toll it can take on the patient and their family.
