Help with Teddy's Lifesaving Medical Care Expenses

Donation protected
My dear sister and her family are facing unprecedented and challenging times as they remain in the hospital with their heart warrior baby, Teddy.

We’re raising funds to cover their medical expenses & travel expenses as they will have to come back to CA multiple times prior to his open heart surgery.

Sweet baby Teddy was born on June 27, 2024 at Stanford Medical in Palo Alto surrounded by a team of world renowned pediatric cardiologists. Teddy was diagnosed with multiple hearts defects, tetralogy of fallot, pulmonary artresia, MAPCAS, as well as a large hole is in heart (VSD). His tiny heart will need an extensive open heart surgery to reconstruct his pulmonary artery system in order to function properly. This grueling surgery usually takes up to 16 hours and the road to recovery will be challenging.

He experienced many challenges after birth. He was very tiny- barely 5 pounds. He had a collapsed lung and needed O2. He struggled to eat, experienced bouts of choking, and had frequent and terrifying tet spells. His sweet mommy (my sister) Rachel quickly learned how to revive him in those terrifying moments when he became limp and lifeless in her arms. After about a month in the hospital he was discharged and Rachel and Mike were able to bring him to San Diego for a couple weeks while they waited for him to gain a little weight so they could do the heart catheterization procedure.

On August 15,2024 Teddy underwent the cath procedure to further diagnose and map out his heart for his eventual full repair surgery. Teddy got through the 3 hour procedure, but it was evident that his little body was struggling from the anesthesia, intubation, & the procedure itself. Though he was discharged the next day, Teddy started having serious and critical complications and was rushed back to the ICU at Stanford.

Teddy developed a very serious arterial blood clot, cutting off all blood flow to his right leg. Other blood clots formed and traveled through the hole in his heart into the brain. He had seizures and multiple strokes as a result. He also sustained a grade 2 brain bleed.

His little leg became deep purple and lifeless. The team needed to aggressively treat his blood clot in order to save his limb, while also protecting his brain from bleeding further. Over a period of 24 hours we rallied all the prayer warriors we could to join us in interceding for this precious baby! We prayed fervently for God’s healing over his brain and for restoration of blood flow to his leg.

The absolute terror and agony Rachel and Mike faced during this time is unimaginable. We are praising God for His miraculous work in sparring his precious leg and preventing any more issues in his brain!

He still has a long road ahead and is currently being watched for an issue that developed in his intestines.

They are facing a lot of unknowns right now, including timelines in the hospital, where to live to be close to a hospital that can treat heart babies, while also trying to figure out school and life for their other little as ones as well.

We know the Lord will continue to have his hand on them and give them wisdom but we can also help with immediate needs of mounting medical bills and all of the costs of living away from their home in Idaho for a time.

Your generous contributions will ensure Teddy gets the care that he needs. If we can help to lighten the financial burden I know it will be such a blessing to them during this very difficult time.
