My name is Taylor. I am a Covid survivor, a mother, a daughter, a sister, and a wife. In 2020, I started the fight for my life. I was 37 weeks pregnant when I entered the hospital alone on December 26, 2020. I would not come home until February 3, 2021, but I came home with so much more than what I entered with. I was diagnosed with pneumonia and Covid, which led to me having a C-section so I could be placed on a ventilator. A few days passed when the call was made to transfer hospitals for the machine I owe my life to. During transport, I coded for 19 minutes but was brought back and immediately placed on ECMO. I spent 40 days in total at the hospital. I came home with oxygen and mobility issues due to muscle loss.
Years later, I still struggle with the mental side effects. I’ve been diagnosed with PTSD on top of already present chronic depression and anxiety. I struggle with doctor's visits to the point I miss them because the anxiety is too much to go alone or the dread of what’s going to happen. Even simple appointments are challenging, and I need help to feel independent.
Moss is my psychiatric service dog prospect. She’s been approved for training and will be trained to perform DPT (Deep Pressure Therapy). I’m starting this GoFundMe to help raise funds for training.
