Hi, my name is Taylor Hayne-Miller. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for the incredible support I’ve received over the years. I’m reaching out again as I face another major hurdle in my recovery journey and work toward a brighter future.

In 2020, I survived a devastating head-on collision that shattered every bone in my right leg. After months of surgeries and unrelenting pain, I made the difficult decision to amputate my right foot in early 2021. Thanks to the generosity of friends, family, and strangers, I was able to get back on my feet—literally—and return to work full-time as an electrician.

Life was starting to feel normal again. In 2022, I even competed in a deadlift competition, lifting 265 pounds on one leg. But this year, a series of infections caused by my prosthetic socket have taken me off my feet entirely. The latest wound, a deep cyst on my knee, requires intensive wound care and complete prosthetic rest to heal, leaving me unable to work or earn an income.

This setback has been more than just physical—it’s tested me emotionally and mentally. But I’m proud to share that, in the midst of all this, I’ve also achieved something deeply personal: I’ve embraced sobriety and am continuing my recovery from alcohol. Staying sober has been one of the hardest yet most rewarding choices I’ve ever made, and it’s given me the clarity and strength to push forward, even when times are tough.

This pause in my career has also forced me to reevaluate my future. I’ve decided to go back to school for engineering so I can build a career that doesn’t depend on my physical condition. It’s a scary decision, but I’m determined to turn this challenge into an opportunity to grow.

Right now, I need your help to cover basic living expenses and medical costs while I heal and prepare for this next chapter. Living in my van in Truckee, CA, close to healthcare, I’m doing everything I can to make it work, but I need support for essentials like food, shelter, and medical care.
