My niece Tanya was born with a rare eye condition called congenital nanophthalmos, which basically means she has extremely small eyes and it causes very poor vision (approximately 20/1000 where perfect is 20/20). She has managed it now with glasses and contacts but now she has cataracts. To correct this eye problem, she will have multiple surgeries in Boston on her eyes which she had her first one in June. Recovery from each surgery will take months where she can’t work or drive. Because part of the surgery is leaving the lens off of her eye, she can't drive until both eyes are completely done. One of the lenses she is waiting for will be coming from Greece so she doesn’t know if insurance will cover it or not. Also, she lost her job two weeks before her first surgery due to budget cuts and she was counting on the PMLA to help with bills and such. She does not qualify for disability so she can't get help there. And lastly, she is having extreme difficulties with her teeth that she needs extensive expensive dental work ASAP. So I'm just looking to see if there is anyone out there that would be able to donate any amount towards helping her get her teeth fixed and to help with daily living expenses. Any amount is very appreciated. Thank you!!
