In Loving Memory of Tanner James Duffek
Born: April 24, 2000 – End of Watch: June 23, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Tanner James Duffek on June 23, 2025. Tanner was just 25 years old.
Tanner proudly served with the Arizona Department of Corrections, beginning his career in 2018 as a Correctional Officer I at SMU. In August 2021, he graduated from COTA Class 1231 as a COII and was assigned to the Winchester unit, where he continued his service with honor and dedication. He was a valued colleague, a loyal friend, and a brave public servant who made a meaningful impact in the lives of many.
Tanner is the beloved son of Retired COIII Brenda Lawrence, and his loss has deeply affected all who knew and loved him.
I am initiating this fundraiser on behalf of Tanner’s family to help ease the financial burden they now face. All funds raised will go directly toward funeral expenses, memorial arrangements, and any additional support the family may need during this incredibly difficult time.
Please consider donating if you’re able. Every contribution, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated. If you are unable to give, we ask that you keep Tanner’s loved ones in your prayers and share this campaign with others who may wish to support.
Thank you for helping us honor Tanner’s life, service, and memory.
Rest in peace, Officer Duffek. You will never be forgotten. God bless you all!
