The Moment Everything Changed

I never thought I’d be writing these words, but life has a way of taking turns you never expect. For the past months/years, I have been fighting a quiet but exhausting battle. What started as early symptoms, like fatigue or swelling] has turned into a fight for my very life. I have been diagnosed with both Congestive Heart Failure and End-Stage Kidney Failure.

The Reality of the Fight

My days are no longer defined by work, hobbies, or time with family. Instead, they are defined by grueling dialysis treatments, constant monitoring, and frequent, terrifying emergency room visits. When your heart and kidneys both struggle, every breath feels like a mountain climbed.

The ER has become a second home. Whether it’s fluid buildup making it impossible to breathe or sudden spikes in blood pressure, these trips are not just physically draining—they are financially devastating.

The Goal: A Transplant and a Future

The doctors have been clear: To live a long, full life my child’s graduation, a wedding, or simply growing old]—I need a transplant. Being placed on the transplant list is a blessing, but the road ahead is steep. Even with insurance, the costs are overwhelming. Donations will go directly toward:

Mounting ER and hospital co-pays from recent crises.

Transportation and lodging for transplant evaluation and surgery.

Life-saving immunosuppressant medications I will need post-surgery.

Basic living expenses while I am unable to work during recovery.
