For 45 years, Slavyanka Chorus has been a bridge between Russian and American cultures, fostering understanding and appreciation through the universal language of a capella music. Born during the Cold War, our mission has always been to celebrate and preserve the rich, thousand-year-old Russian choral liturgical and folk music tradition while creating meaningful, people-to-people connections that transcend politics and conflict.

Through our concerts, recordings, and tours – both here in the Bay Area and in Russia and the former Soviet Union – Slavyanka has kept alive the beauty of music as a unifying force. Just last year, we introduced the work of five contemporary Slavic women composers to Bay Area audiences, highlighting voices and stories that might otherwise go unheard.
