In Loving Memory of Charlie James Kirk
October 14, 1993 – September 10, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Charlie Kirk, who was taken from us far too soon. On September 10, 2025, Charlie was tragically shot while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. He was 31 years old.
Charlie was born in Arlington Heights, Illinois, on October 14, 1993. From his youth, he was driven by passion and conviction, and with that spirit he co-founded Turning Point USA at just 18. What began as a small campus initiative blossomed into a national movement to mobilize young people, promote conservative values, and engage in grassroots activism.
He was a husband and a father, a son, a brother, and a friend. Above all, Charlie believed deeply in faith, family, and service. He inspired many by not only speaking his beliefs but by living them. His work, his voice, and his presence made a lasting impact on countless lives.
His legacy is not limited to the ideas he championed, but in every life he touched—those who found courage, direction, or purpose because Charlie dared to speak up and show up. As we mourn his absence, we also celebrate the many ways he made this world better by encouraging debate, standing up for what he believed, and serving others.
He is survived by his beloved wife Erika Kirk, their children, and family and friends who will carry forward his work, his values, and his memory. We hope to honor Charlie by continuing the causes and dreams he held dear.
