Help The Hive Build a Dignified Community Pantry in Columbia, SC

The Hive Community Circle knows that how you feel when you receive support matters just as much as the support itself. That’s why we’re building something special — a boutique-style community pantry that offers more than just food and essentials. We’re creating a space where dignity, comfort, and community are at the heart of the experience.

We’re raising funds to complete this unique pantry — one designed to feel less like a traditional food bank and more like a safe, welcoming place to shop for the things you need. This space will serve survivors of trauma and individuals in crisis, many of whom turn to The Hive for support, healing, and empowerment.

Why This Pantry Matters:

Dignity & Choice: Our pantry will feel like a small boutique where individuals can "shop" freely, restoring a sense of control and pride in moments that often feel overwhelming.

More Than Food: We’ll stock essentials — not only groceries, but also hygiene products, baby items, and daily necessities — because wellness goes beyond a meal.

Designed with Intention: We believe the environment we’re in impacts how we feel. Our goal is to make sure everyone who walks through our doors feels respected, welcomed, and empowered.

Serving Survivors & Families: The Hive supports survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking — many of whom face economic hardships. This pantry will be an extension of the wraparound care we already provide.

In Loving Memory of Brianna Marie Crisel

This pantry is being funded in honor of Brianna Marie Crisel — a deeply compassionate soul who dedicated her life to loving and lifting others. Brianna was the kind of person who made everyone feel seen and accepted, no matter their background or story. She treated every person with respect and believed fiercely in standing beside those who had been silenced or hurt.

Brianna openly shared her own experiences with abuse and trauma to support survivors, speaking up on social media and in her community to say: You are not alone. You are never to blame. Her empathy ran deep — she never asked what someone wore or what they did to “deserve” harm. Instead, she offered understanding, safety, and love.

She adored her three nephews as if they were her own sons and was a source of unwavering strength and light for our family. Her absence is felt every day, but we are committed to keeping her spirit alive by continuing her work — to help others feel human, held, and whole.

This pantry is one way we hope to carry forward Brianna’s legacy of compassion and advocacy. A space built not just with food and supplies, but with heart.
But we can’t do this without you.

Sustaining The Hive’s Work Beyond the Pantry

As The Hive celebrates 10 years of standing with survivors, they're also facing one of their most critical seasons yet. Due to recent statewide and federal funding cuts, they must raise $125,000 by November to sustain their programs and keep spaces like this pantry open and thriving.

Your support here not only helps us finish the pantry, it helps ensure that survivors across South Carolina continue to have access to safety, healing, and community care.

Every gift makes a difference. Thank you for helping us keep The Hive alive and growing.
