Dear friends, family and kind acquaintances,

We’re reaching out on behalf of our dad Jim who recently suffered a sudden and life-threatening ruptured brain aneurysm while visiting Mexico on April 17th. This devastating event required emergency brain surgery to stabilize his condition and give him a fighting chance. Since the initial surgery, he has required multiple additional surgeries to attempt to stabilize the bleeding and swelling in his brain.

Thanks to the quick action of doctors and his incredible stubbornness, our dad has pulled through 3 surgeries and multiple procedures and unfortunately still remains in very critical condition. Things are hour to hour as per the surgeon.

As you can imagine, this has created intense strain both emotionally and financially. There is some insurance coverage for medical expenses, but per the surgeon, there is the potential to be in mexico for multiple weeks while we wait for him to stabilize. Emergency medical care abroad comes with rapidly mounting medical bills and expenses. With very minimal coverage for our mom and no coverage for anyone to support her.

Fortunately, we have been able to join our mom, and of course, she is just beside herself with grief. Funds raised will help cover:

• Temporary housing, meals, and living expenses for our mom while she stays near the hospital

• Potential air ambulance/ medical evacuation costs

• Emergency and ongoing ICU medical expenses

• As they are both still employed, a temporary leave from work for our mom and ongoing leave for our dad.

We hate to ask, but the best gift we could give our mom right now is peace of mind knowing she can stay by our dad's side without the added stress of how to manage the growing costs.
