Hi, my name is Taraspreet Kaur. I was admitted to the Brampton Civic Hospital for pains i was experiencing on my left leg. Upon being admitted in the hospital i was informed by the doctor that i have a flesh eating disease in my leg and if i had waited two more days before coming in, i would have had my leg amputated. I had my surgery on the 28th of October, 2024. I was hen put in an induced coma for 15 days. I am out of the coma right now, but still in the hospital because i cannot walk or eat by myself. My medical insurance only covers $50,000, but my medical bills are over $200,000 and counting. I recently finished my studies in August, and i am currently waiting to get my work permit visa approved. I am 23 years old from India, who is relying on just her friends for support. My family is back in India and are not able to acquire the funds for my medical bills. With no OHIP insurance and no work, it would be greatly appreciated if i can get some assistance towards my medical bills. The flesh eating disease i got is a rear one and very life threatening.
