Hi, I'm Al Jabbar, Sri Lanka has been struck by a devastating cyclone, leaving entire communities shattered. Homes have been swept away, villages flooded, and thousands of families are now without food, clean water, medicine, or shelter. Overnight, countless people lost not only their homes but also their livelihoods—fishermen lost their boats, farmers lost their crops, and children lost their schools. The scale of destruction is heartbreaking. Roads and bridges have collapsed, hospitals are overwhelmed, and many areas remain cut off and unreachable. Families are trying to survive amid debris, contaminated water, and limited access to basic necessities. Emergency relief organizations are doing all they can, but the needs far exceed the available resources.
The Sri Lanka Muslim Association of California is stepping in to help. Your support will go directly toward immediate relief: food, clean drinking water, medical supplies, clothing, temporary shelter, and sanitation kits. We are also committed to recovery and rebuilding—repairing homes, restoring schools and community centers, supporting families who lost their incomes, and helping communities rebuild stronger and safer. Long-term, we aim to invest in sustainable housing, disaster-resistant infrastructure, and community programs to prepare for future storms.
Recovery from a disaster of this scale will take months—possibly years. Many families have nothing left and are starting from zero. Your donation, no matter how small, will help them take the first steps toward safety, comfort, and hope. Together, we can help Sri Lanka heal, rebuild, and rise again. Please donate and share this campaign widely. Your kindness can change a life.
