Friends of Rabbits, a nonprofit rabbit rescue in the DMV area, just recently undertook a massive rescue of domestic rabbits left on a farm. Our volunteers, along with some volunteers from HRS, went out to the property several evenings in a row for hours at a time and caught approximately 60 rabbits.

We are currently housing all of them at our rescue in Columbia MD. Many of these rabbits are sick and malnourished and have required emergency medical care- a huge expense for the rescue. Additionally, all but one female has given birth while in rescue.

This rescue effort is going to be a huge expense for the rescue. We will need to spay/neuter every one of the, vaccinate everyone, and tend to any illness that arises. Along with the day to day cost of feeding the rabbits.

These gentle creatures deserve safe, loving homes, and your support can make a significant impact in their lives. By contributing to this cause, we can help ensure that more rabbits are rescued from shelters and given a second chance at life.
