Support Puddle Jumpers Robotics!

Puddle Jumpers Robotics is the first female and gender diverse robotics team in British Columbia, and one of few in Canada!

 

We built this team to create a safe space for women and other gender minorities to feel welcome in male-dominated STEM and robotics.

 

Our team’s main pursuit is the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), a worldwide challenge where teams are required to build a fully functioning robot in 10 weeks. We have to single-handedly design, engineer, code and test the robot while meeting the strict requirements and rules of the competition.

 

The fee to enter this competition is $5000 USD, and with little funding from our inner-city school, we have to resort to external sponsors. Every year we also need to purchase parts, equipment, uniforms and fund a round trip to Victoria, BC, for all our participants.

 

Our goal is to ensure that every participant does not need to pay a single cent to be a part of our team. Robotics is for anyone and everyone, not just those who can afford it.
