Hi, everyone. I'm reaching out because I need to take some time off work to care for my mom as she recovers from whole brain radiation treatment for brain metastasis cancer. As many of you know, I've always been fiercely independent, so asking for help is really tough for me.

In April 2025 my mother had lung surgery to remove that was supposed to be stage one lung cancer. May 30th Doctors tell us that she has three tumors in her brain and they have to start full brain radiation! How did this happen so fast? is the question that is stays on my mind.

Since I work for myself, any time away from work means a direct loss of income, which adds extra stress during this already challenging time. I want to be there for my mom, making sure she has everything she needs to heal and recover after such an intense treatment.
