Donate to Support Mitch Teta and Family

In January, Mitch Teta, our friend, colleague and fellow alum, sought medical treatment for, what was expected to be a manageable condition. What has transpired, and what Mitch and his family have endured, since then is nothing short of tragic. In February, the team of physicians treating Mitch performed several emergency surgeries -- during which time Mitch was placed and remained in a state of medically induced paralysis. The medical procedures led to a devastating diagnosis -- Mitch has colon cancer. While the procedures were successful according to the medical staff, the undeniable reality is that Mitch now has a long and trying road ahead to fully recover. We have hope that, by channeling his grit and determination (qualities we all know and revere in Mitch), he comes out of this stronger than ever.
During all of this, Mitch and his wife Sarah were expecting their first child, and on February 8, Reese Michelle Teta was born. Reese was born in the same hospital where Mitch had been for weeks, and he was able to meet his daughter briefly before she and Sarah were discharged. This glimmer of hope and joy during what is undoubtedly the most challenging time in this young man's life was cut short. Due to the hospital's rigorous, COVID visitation protocol, and in light of Mitch's medical state, he has not been able to hold his daughter again.
This donation drive is simple: we are creating an outlet for Mitch's family, friends, and colleagues, and others who wish to participate, to support Mitch during these challenging times. We can't visit Mitch, and responding to texts and answering calls requires energy that Mitch desperately needs to store and use in his recovery process. Financial donations, in any amount, will be a meaningful show of support for Mitch and his family -- to alleviate some of the financial burden that will follow as a result of this ordeal.
We are Mitch's community -- we are his "village" -- and he needs us now more than ever. Please consider donating and showing your support for Mitch and his family.
