It’s with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Jonathan Young after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Jonathan transitioned surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of strength, loyalty, and deep family roots.
He was more than a husband, father, brother, and friend. Jonathan was the kind of person who made everyone feel welcome. It seemed like everywhere he went, someone knew him, and if they didn’t, it didn’t take long. He was personable, genuine, and always willing to lend a hand. A jack-of-all-trades, Jonathan could fix and scrap just about anything, and his knowledge ran deep across so many areas. And if you ever played spades with him, you already know he held that undefeated champ title proudly!
Jonathan and Portia were together for 20 beautiful years. Jonathan was a devoted father to his beautiful daughters, Joneesha and Tiana, and together they raised three amazing children, Ayden, Kaleb, and Angelena. Family meant everything to him. As he came from a big, tight-knit family that stuck together like glue, and one of his final wishes was for his children to make sure they always stay connected. That speaks volumes about the kind of man he was.
This loss is especially hard as their oldest son, Ayden, is graduating from high school this year and preparing for college. Jonathan was his number one fan, both in the classroom and on the football field. His absence is deeply felt, but his love and guidance will continue to live on through his children.
So many people have reached out asking how they can help. This fundraiser is one way to support Portia and the kids during this heartbreaking time. All donations will go directly to the family to help with day-to-day living expenses, future educational costs, and to ease the financial weight as they begin to adjust to life without Jonathan.
If you’re able to give, we’re beyond grateful. If you can’t, please share this with others and keep the family lifted in your thoughts and prayers.
Jonathan is deeply missed, but he will never be forgotten.
