My name is Shaday Coram, and together with my husband Dushane Coram, we are raising funds to help individuals who have been affected by the recent hurricane in Hanover Jamaica. The parish where we both grew up! Like many others we're heartbroken to see the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa. Families have loss so much including homes, belongings, their livelihood, and access to basic necessities such as electricity, water, and reliable transportation.
We started this fundraiser to help families in Hanover and adjoining communities who have been directly impacted. Many of them are direct relatives like cousins, uncles, grand parents, neighbors, and lifelong family friends who we grew up around and stayed in touch with over the years.
The goal of this campaign is to provide direct relief in the form of food, clothing, household essentials, sanitary products, and small financial support for families who need to rebuild their lives.
The funds will be used to purchase can goods and non perishable items from various low cost grocery stores in the Atlanta, GA area, source household essentials items that are necessary for disaster relief, and pay for the transportation cost of shipping the barrels to Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Thank you so much for your kindness, your compassion, and your willingness to help Jamaica heal.
