Hi everyone,

My name is Mike James, and I am a student at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

As part of my Business Growth and Development class (BUS 477), I have been challenged with a final project: to identify a local organization and help them grow, gain exposure, and improve their operations.

While this is a class assignment, the mission I’ve chosen is deeply personal. I have chosen to partner with the Fox Valley Humane Association.

Why This Matters As a lifelong animal lover, my heart has always been with our furry friends who don't have a place to call home yet. As a pet owner, this organization holds a special place in my heart. With the holidays approaching, the need to support these animals feels even more urgent. I wanted to do something that goes beyond just writing a paper—I wanted to take real action to help animals find comfort and care while they wait for their forever families.

My Commitment To complete this project by December 9th, I am taking a two-pronged approach:

Time: I am dedicating at least 16 hours of my personal time to volunteering on-site at the shelter, assisting with whatever tasks they need to keep operations running smoothly.

Treasure: I have set a modest fundraising goal of $250. Every single penny raised will go directly to the Fox Valley Humane Association to support their mission of caring for homeless animals.

I’m All In I believe in leading by example. To show how much this means to me, I am kicking off this campaign by donating the first $50 from my own pocket.
