Hi, my name is Andi and my friend Elaine has just gone through an incredibly difficult and scary situation. Elaine is a hardworking mom of two and caretaker of many and on the night of Wednesday, August 23rd, her car caught on fire while she was in it. Luckily she managed to pull over to the side of the bridge she was driving on, exit the vehicle and extinguish the flames with some clothes she had in the trunk. After managing to find a repair shop that would tow and look at the car, she found out that it was an electric fire that ignited under the steering wheel column as a result of many other issues and that the repair would be overwhelmingly expensive. Though thankfully she was not physically injured, this was incredibly traumatic and has caused a devastating roadblock for Elaine and her family. This was their only family car and the only means they have to get Elaine to work and her children to school. Elaine's kids go to a small charter school across the bridge from them which has no school busses and without this car, it will cost her family 10 dollars a day and 3 hours to commute on public transit. Anyone who knows Elaine knows she is an incredible community member who helps so many and has had a lot of unfair hardships thrown at her, always pushing through with positivity and faith. These funds will go directly to helping repair and attain the means of transportation she and her family need to be able to go to work and school.
