Late last Tuesday evening (9/6), Bryce was admitted to the ICU with severe legionella pneumonia. The infection is so severe that he only has use of his right lung. Here, we will share updates on Bryce's journey and accept donations to alleviate the ongoing and upcoming medical expenses and associated stressors.

As of this morning (9/11), his high, ongoing fever continues to persist, suggesting there is a secondary infection. The goal continues to be to manage his high fever, improve his breathing, and locate any additional infections before they can move him out of the ICU. The doctor hopes he will be able to move to a regular room in 2-3 days, but we are very much taking things hour by hour. From there, the goal will be to build some strength - enough to get to and from the bathroom, eat more regular food, continue to improve breathing, etc. before he can leave the hospital. But unfortunately, that will just be the beginning of Bryce's road to recovery. Once out of the hospital, Bryce will need continued physical therapy to regain his strength, and it will likely be months before he can return to work.

We know Bryce has a strong community that will come together to help fight these battles with him. Even with limited communication and confusion caused by his current medical condition and high fever, Brycer continues to show his playful spirit, cracking jokes and remaining strong.
