On September 28th, our son Brennen was in a severe accident that has left him fighting for his life.
Brennen’s injuries are extensive: he has bleeding and swelling on the brain, multiple spinal fractures (L1 in two places and a displaced T12), several broken ribs, a large bleed in his abdomen requiring emergency surgery, and serious injuries to both lungs. He is currently on ECMO life support. An intracranial pressure monitor has been placed, and he faces additional abdominal surgeries in the days ahead. Once stabilized, he will also require spine surgery.
We recently met with his care team and were told the harsh reality—despite everything being done, Brennen’s chance of survival right now is less than 50%. Still, he continues to fight, hour by hour.
We are incredibly grateful to the first person who stopped to help Brennen at the scene, the Andover Fire and EMS, Clinton Fire Department, Mercy in Clinton, the air crew, and the staff and doctors who have worked tirelessly to keep him alive.
This is a long road, and Brennen will need extensive medical care and rehabilitation if he pulls through. The costs for his treatment, future surgeries, and recovery will be enormous. We are humbly asking for your support—whether through donations, prayers, or simply sharing his story.
Brennen is loved by so many, and we are holding onto hope that he will continue to fight through this.
From the bottom of our hearts—thank you.
