Terence Cooke loves scotch. He has ALS.
Since his diagnosis in February 2024, his progression has been slow, but each incremental deterioration has been devastating and is accompanied by a loss of independence. Few things have brought Terry as much joy since then as sipping a tipple of beloved scotch with a friend or two. He has always been a social creature and a good hang, and this ritual has allowed him to explore and create new experiences from the comfort of his home.
Hence was formed The Friday Scotch Club! Follow along on their tasting adventures via Instagram by following @cooketerence
Many of you want to drink with Terry. Fantastic! Stop by any Friday afternoon to their home in charming Middleburg, VA. The cost of entry is a $25 donation to the ALS Association.
Can't come to Middleburg, but still want to toast Terry, drink along from home (maybe start your own chapter of the Friday Scotch Club), or are living a Zero Proof lifestyle?
You can still donate!
Please post your experiences on Instagram and tag @cooketerence as he would delight in nothing more than hearing your own tasting notes on some interesting scotches you come across.
The ALS Association
To discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest.
The ALS Association is the largest philanthropic funder of ALS research in the world. Supported by our funding, researchers around the world are looking to better understand the underlying factors that cause ALS, not just to find new ways of treating the disease but also ways to prevent it from ever occurring. We also support research into biomarkers and technologies that can be leveraged to detect and diagnose ALS sooner.
