Hello everyone,
My name is Adrene, and I’m a proud 4th-generation native of Altadena/Pasadena. Tragically, my historic hometown was devastated by the Eaton Canyon Fires. Almost the entire city I once knew and loved is gone.
The places that held my most cherished memories... my favorite ice cream shop, and the elementary school where I played tennis with my mom and grandma have all been reduced to ash. It’s heartbreaking. The town now looks, feels, and even smells like a war zone, leaving almost nothing behind.
My family lost four homes and our cars. Many of my friends and their families also lost everything homes, businesses, and the fruits of generations of hard work. Growing up, I witnessed the love, dedication, and effort my elders, neighbors, and friends’ parents poured into our community. It’s painful to see it all disappear in an instant.
As we begin the long road to rebuilding, we can’t do it alone. I humbly ask for your support in this challenging time to rebuild. Some immediate needs: water, food, transportation, post office boxes, gas, luggage, clothes, computers, Air purifiers, blankets, relocation fees, personal hygiene & essentials. Together, we are stronger, and with your help, we can rebuild not just homes, but the spirit of our community.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and kindness.
With gratitude,
Adrene
