Please Help Support Paige

In February this year, 25-year-old Paige's life changed forever.

A car accident in the UK led to an MRI — and an unexpected discovery. Doctors found a massive tumour in her abdomen, which she was previously unaware of.

In April, she flew back to her childhood home to find a way forward to tackle this tumour with her family by her side. After multiple tests and consultations, the tumour was diagnosed as an extremely rare desmoid tumour — known for being aggressive and locally invasive. It was already pressing on Paige’s vital organs and immediate surgery was required.

Paige underwent a high-risk operation in Johannesburg, South Africa to remove the tumour. Surgeons successfully removed the 2kg mass along with 60cm of her small intestine.

Five days post-op, Paige began experiencing extreme discomfort. A CT scan prompted a second surgery that revealed something no one was prepared for: her remaining small intestine and part of her colon had become completely gangrenous. The surgeon had no choice but to remove her entire small intestine and part of her colon. This has rendered Paige fully reliant on Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) — a drip feed that bypasses the digestive system entirely.

Paige now requires lifelong specialized treatment and an extremely rare small intestine transplant – a highly technical procedure with expert care in the UK. Specialists all agree that Paige is a good candidate for a small intestine transplant given that she is young, previously extremely healthy and fit. Paige will be medically evacuated to the UK for the treatment and procedure.

This medical journey will be long and costly and will require the support of her Mum, Nicky, who will relocate from Kenya to take care of her daughter.

Paige is young, strong, full of life and incredibly brave. She has survived what many would not. We are asking for your help to give Paige the chance she so desperately deserves.

Your donation will help cover:
Accommodation and living costs in the UK for Paige and her mum
• Long-term TPN support and transplant care

Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference.

With heartfelt thanks,
