Help Sunny start her second chance at life

Donation protected
This fundraiser is for Sunny, a gentle 14-year-old Jack Russell terrier whose world changed overnight when her beloved owner tragically passed away. My roommate and I (Caroline) are now fostering Sunny, and we’re doing everything we can to give her safety, stability, and a fresh start. But we urgently need help covering her medical care and basic supplies.

Sunny’s Story:
Sunny’s owner loved her dearly, but after being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, their health declined rapidly. In those final months Sunny suffered periods of food and water deprivation, very few walks, and little stimulation. After her owner’s passing, she was confused, morbidly overweight, and traumatized.

And yet… Sunny lives up to her name.
Despite everything she’s endured, she has remained sweet, gentle, and endlessly hopeful. She literally frolics through the grass at the park, sniffing every new smell with pure joy. At home she naps belly-up, slowly relearning how to feel safe. We’re honored to help her heal—but she needs more care than we can give on our own.

What Sunny Needs:
Because we have no access to any of her previous supplies, we’ve had to start from scratch with food, treats, pee pads, a bed, toys—everything a dog needs.

But the most urgent need is veterinary care. Sunny is showing signs of serious medical issues, including:
-Excessive thirst and urination
-Several lumps that require assessment and possible removal
-A concerning cyst on her abdomen
-A possible mammary gland tumor

Her initial vet visit has already exceeded $600. Her upcoming surgery is estimated at $1,500–$1,800, depending on whether the tumor also needs to be removed.

We’ll continue to update everyone as we receive more test results and treatment recommendations.

Why Your Help Matters:
Sunny has been through so much—and yet she greets every day with softness and trust. She deserves comfort, health and the happiness she was denied for so long.

We’re fully committed to giving Sunny the time, patience, and love she needs to recover. But we can’t cover the financial burden of her medical care alone.

We know times are tough rn and there is high demand for sparse resources. Even a few dollars truly helps! Small donations add up quickly, and every bit brings Sunny closer to a safe and pain-free life. If you can’t donate, please share her story.

Thank you for helping us give this brave little dog her second chance.
